The Board of Directors are delighted to announce Stortford Interiors (UK) has recently been awarded the drylining and suspended ceiling package at Soho Place by main contractor Laing O’Rourke.  The Soho Place scheme consists of two buildings, No1 and No2 Soho Place, and stands on the apex of Oxford Street and Charing Cross Road, London W1. The project, for developer Derwent London, represents a mixed-use scheme and will include the first purpose-built theatre venue in the West End for 50 years.

The multi million pound award captures a very technical drywall scope with demanding interface detailing and exacting performance requirements. In addition to the partition and lining remit, the large suspended ceiling package includes proprietary metal pan ceilings and bespoke rafts to field locations as well as modular and MF ceilings to cellular areas.

BD & Pre-Construction Director Scott Shearing commented: ‘This is a very significant appointment for us. The project provides numerous technical challenges and the Client has shown their faith in our ability to deliver a peerless installation. We have already secured the washroom fit-out on both blocks and we look forward to the Parkrose and Stortford teams working seamlessly together and de-risking the project delivery’.
