Stortford Interiors (UK) in-house joinery division, Parkrose are very proud to announce that we have secured a substantial turnkey washroom fit-out package at 1 Broadgate, for construction giant Sir Robert McAlpine. The highly sustainable scheme is the fifth project to be delivered under the Broadgate Framework for British Land and GIC, and is one of the largest design and build schemes Sir Robert McAlpine has ever delivered in London. It is also the third washroom fit-out package that Parkrose have secured on the framework, following the successful delivery of award winning projects 1 Finsbury Avenue and 100 Liverpool Street.
1 Broadgate is a major 14 storey office-led development located in the southern part of the Broadgate campus in the City of London. It provides flexible accommodation for a mix of uses including 375,000 square feet of retail space arranged around a new retail arcade over four levels, and 375,000 square feet of new office space above. In plan, the building form maintains the principles and geometry of the original masterplan by framing the public space around Broadgate Circle, formally addressing the southern edge of Finsbury Avenue Square, and clearly defining the north-south pedestrian axis along Finsbury Avenue. AHMM’s multi-coloured, autumnal design is focussed on breaking down the perception of the scale of this development and incorporates generous terraces and balconies totalling to 45,000 sq ft of green space for the building’s users.
The appointment will see Parkrose Washroom Business Unit deliver a comprehensive turnkey fit-out package. The super-loo configuration will feature European Ash veneered cubicle fronts and dividers, with panelling and doorsets to match. The scope also includes laminate faced IPS modules, GIFA calcium silicate flooring, terrazzo floor tiling and Corian-clad island vanity units with bespoke post-mounted mirrors. A full FF&E package and modular ceilings complete the architectural remit. The multi-million pound award also captures a full MEP scope to the washroom vicinity, designed, procured and installed by our resident MEP team. The award will enable Parkrose to demonstrate its in-house design capabilities, provide unique architectural solutions and deliver another major washroom scheme to peerless quality parameters.
Scott Shearing (Managing Director) commented: ‘We have been working under a PCSA on the design on this scheme for a considerable period of time and collaborated closely with Sir Robert McAlpine, the client team and wider project stakeholders to understand the project challenges and provide innovative solutions. Our proactive ‘can-do’ ethos has differentiated us again and we look forward to delivering another prestigious class-leading washroom install’.
