Stortford Interiors (UK) in-house joinery division, Parkrose are delighted to announce that we were recently awarded a the Joinery Fit-Out package at Angel Square, for McLaren Construction. Angel Square reinvents a prominent corner site in Islington, North London. The mixed-use office led development incorporates new active frontages, builds over the existing Angel underground station and repositions a public house while retaining the existing concrete structure.
As part of a collaborative team with McLaren Construction, work will transform 132,000 sq ft of office space in three linked buildings to create one 293,000 sq ft building containing 188,000 sq ft of office space, affordable workspace, a replacement public house and a public café. The refurbishment will retain around 70% of the existing structure, infilling a central courtyard and adding two new floors with roof terraces after demolition of the upper level. The cores will be moved to a central position, freeing space and opening up floor plans. The new significantly redeveloped building retains the reinforced concrete frame and basement of the early 90s postmodern office block, saving a significant amount of embodied carbon.
The appointment will see Parkrose Joinery Business Unit deliver a comprehensive Joinery fit-out package. The package scope includes Internal Timber Doorsets & Ironmongery, Timber Skirtings, Protective Bump Rail. Blind Boxes & Blinds, Bespoke Modular Desks and Bespoke Laminate Joinery. Steve Harvey (Operations Director) commented: ‘We are looking forward to working with McLaren Construction at Angel Square and continuing an excellent trading relationship developed recently at 151 Buckingham Palace Rd, and The Hub, Victoria. We look forward to again demonstrating our capabilities and collaborating closely with the project team’.
