Broadgate Joinery & Washroom Fit-Out
1 Finsbury Avenue is a Grade II listed Building in the heart of The City, EC2. Originally constructed in the early 1980’s by Arup Associates it sits central to the Broadgate campus. The redevelopment of this 8 storey commercial building has introduced a cinema, retail space and restaurants to the prime location and re-established the public route through the building to activate the connection with Finsbury Avenue Square. The shift in emphasis from single tenancy to mixed use retail and leisure and flexible office space has provided an exciting and diverse destination.
Stortford Interiors’ in-house Joinery Division Parkrose were appointed by Sir Robert McAlpine to design, deliver and install both Commercial Washroom Fit-Out and Joinery Packages over eight floors.
Scope of Works
Parkrose were responsible for the delivery of a broad turnkey architectural washroom fit-out scope. The expansive remit included pre-finished MDF ceilings, screeding, factory paint finished fluted WC cubicle fronts, laminate faced dividers and IPS units. The package also captured ceramic tiling to walls and floors, mirrors, FF&E, decoration and door-sets and engineered hardwood flooring, plus lockers, benching and shower cubicles to the voluminous basement area. Further expansion of the scope was generated by the instruction of an auditorium fit-out package to the ‘Everyman’ cinema on levels B1 and B2. This captured stepped structural flooring, manufactured off-site in modular sections to facilitate ease and speed of installation, and acoustic MF ceilings. The holistic package scope allowed Parkrose to demonstrate their experience in close interface management, de-risk delivery and provide both commercial and programme benefits. The scheme was delivered to peerless quality standards and satisfied exacting and demanding Client expectations.
