Stortford Interiors are delighted to announce that we have been awarded an expansive variety of works packages on the 1 Regent Street, Cambridge project for Main Contractor ISG.
The project will see The Entopia Building, a retrofitted 1930s Telephone Exchange, transformed into an ultra-low carbon headquarters for the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL).
The redevelopment will be carried out according to EnerPHit, the Passivhaus standard for refurbishment. This is one of the most stringent standards for energy retrofits and low energy use. The new Head Office will provide co-working space for corporate partners and SMEs, along with the creation of exhibition space.
Stortford Interiors remit will include Fermacell partitions and linings, specialist insulated plasters and membranes and modular ceiling package.
Scott Shearing (Managing Director) commented ‘We look forward to working collaboratively through our journey with both ISG and the CISL on this exciting, sustainable and highly significant project……….this is a pioneering case study to demonstrate how the smart transformation of an existing building can reduce carbon emissions in existing stock and maintain the built heritage of our cities’.
