2 Soho Place
Soho Place is an enormous urban jigsaw that builds on the arrival of Crossrail to bolster the large-scale regeneration of Oxford Street’s eastern end. A new civic plaza is placed between the schemes centre to amplify the urban regeneration of Oxford Street, line new urban vistas to St Patrick’s Church and physically link Charing Cross Road to Soho Square. No2 Soho Place is a unique nine storey theatre and office building fronting Charing Cross Road, Sutton Row and Goslett Yard. Theatre spaces have been developed in conjunction with theatre operator Nimax, and forms the first purpose-built theatre for in-theround performance in London and the first new-build theatre in the West End for 50 years. The three floors of office above achieve over 3.5m clear floor-ceiling heights and 16m column-free spans with 270-degree views.
Scope of Works
Stortford Interiors’ (UK) in-house joinery division, Parkrose was appointed by Laing O’ Rourke to design, deliver and install a full turn-key fit-out solution to the washrooms and back of house areas of the building. The comprehensive package scope included drywall partitions & MF ceilings, HPL faced IPS duct wall & cubicles, raised GIFA access floors, powder coated modular open mesh suspended ceilings, concrete style porcelain floor tiling, ‘brick slip’ ceramic wall tiling, vinyl flooring, fixtures, fittings and decoration.
The scope also extended to bespoke joinery, glass shower cubicles, lockers, mirrors and changing benching to the basement levels, and birch plywood linings, a staff room kitchenette, workshop benching, dressing room worktops, shelving & storage units to the back of house changing areas.
The variety of intimate material interfaces and the highest of quality expectations provided Parkrose an opportunity to again demonstrate our class-leading credentials. Our in-house design team worked in close conjunction with the project stakeholders to ensure our preconstruction activities de-risked delivery and facilitated an efficient and class leading installation.
