This new commercial building brings more than 450,000ft² of Grade A, BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ office space and premium retail provision to a prominent corner site just north of the new Crossrail entrance at Moorgate Station. The dynamic 27-storey structure that integrates with the area’s existing urban grain and creates a bookend for the emerging cluster of towers around CityPoint. With its  articulated form, varied floorplates and welcoming public realm, it has made a major impact on the ongoing regeneration of the area.

The development has created a double-height entrance and lobby along Ropemaker Street and a separate dedicated cycle entrance. A single storey of business space is located at mezzanine level within the ‘street block’. 425,000 sq/ft of occupiable office space covers 22 floors, and includes five accessible roof terraces. These ‘outdoor rooms’ offer employees a space to relax and to host informal meetings and events. Three basement levels are provided for retail servicing, plant, facilities management, cycle and shower facilities.

Scope of works

Stortford Interiors’ (UK) in-house joinery division, Parkrose was awarded a substantial Washroom Fit-Out package by Skanska. The super-loo configuration comprised drywall dividers and cubicle fronts clad with European Oak veneered panels, with door sets to match. The package scope captured screeding, floor tiling and Dekton vanity units with bespoke veneered wall mounted cabinets. Mirrors, a full FF&E package and modular ceilings complete the architectural remit. The full MEP scope to the washroom vicinity was designed, procured and installed by our resident MEP team, and a smaller multi-finish fitout package to the lift lobbies completed the breadth of the package.

The multi-million pound award enabled Parkrose to demonstrate its in-house design capabilities, work alongside the wider project stakeholders to provide unique architectural solutions, and deliver another major washroom scheme on programme and to peerless quality parameters.
