Stortford Interiors (UK) in-house joinery division, Parkrose are pleased to announce that we have recently secured the carpentry & joinery package for Kier at Future Greenwich Campus in Plumstead Road. In close collaboration with the College’s curriculum and timetable team, Associated Architects have designed a 5,500 sq/m flexible facility. This new facility will not only increase the number of Guided Learning Hours but also establish a strong civic presence, enhancing the college’s connection with its surroundings.

Kier were appointed by London South East Colleges (LSEC) on the transformative redevelopment of the Greenwich campus earlier in the year. This ambitious multi-million project will see the demolition of existing structures and the construction of a state-of-the-art educational facility. The new college will be a cornerstone of a broader masterplan that includes 294 new homes, including a significant number of affordable and family-sized units, enhanced public amenities, and significant improvements to the public realm. The design aims to create a vibrant, attractive space for students, staff, and the community, integrating cutting-edge digital technologies in line with Future Greenwich and the Mayor’s ‘Smart City Strategy’. The team will target BREEAM Outstanding certification for this project.

The appointment will see the Parkrose team deliver an expansive Carpentry & Joinery scope that includes, veneered timber doorsets, ironmongery, skirtings, window boards, IPS duct & panel linings, lockers, acoustic wall panelling and hygienic wall cladding. It also captures a variety of bespoke joinery including tea points, planters, library shelving, benching, security & LRC desks and a print station. The installation works are due to commence on site in December 2024, with completion in May 2025.
