Stortford Interiors wins FIS Gold with Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co project
Stortford Interiors (UK) scoops Gold for the Ceilings Category at the 2015 FIS Contractors Awards for their project for the international law firm, Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co.
Specialist interiors architectural contractor, Stortford Interiors was presented with the top Ceilings award at the FIS Presidents Lunch at London’s Dorchester Hotel in the company of over 450 industry leaders from across the finishes and interiors sector.
Stortford’s award win was recognised for the £2.5million (approx) Cat A and Cat B fit out of the high-end commercial offices at No.2 Snow Hill, Birmingham for the law firm Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co, which was completed in partnership with Wates Construction.
The project posed a number of complex challenges, the most significant of which was to enhance the quality and reduce the duration of onsite installation.
The 32 week programme using SAS metal ceilings, SAS single and double glazed screens, dry lining, Hunter Douglas linear plank and timber ceilings as well as architectural joinery was praised by judges for the successful management of various interfaces and Stortford’s wide architectural scope. This enabled the de-risking of the delivery of a project which required a high level of technical detailing and coordination with the ceiling, wall and glazed screen junctions.
Jim Nania, Chairman of Stortford Interiors said: “For our project to be chosen by the FIS for this top accolade is a real tribute to everyone at Stortford. It follows the successful completion of such a technically challenging fit out project where we used our architectural package contracting skills. These awards celebrate true craftsmanship and design quality throughout the finishes and interiors sector, so to have received gold is the icing on the cake.”
