Project Outline

Stortford Interiors were appointed by Main Contractor BAM Construction to deliver a major drywall and ceilings package at Birmingham’s tallest office building – 103 Colmore Row. Formerly know as ‘Natwest House’ the 26 storey building sits in the heart of Birmingham’s CBD. The prestigious development provides 229,000 sq. ft. of Grade A office space and a further 8300sq.ft. of leisure space including roof restaurant and panoramic winter gardens.

Scope of Works

With a strong accent on consistently high levels of quality throughout the multi-storey structure, Stortford Interiors were selected to utilise their major project experience on CAT A installations. The multimillion pound drywall scope included high performance partitions, linings and shaftwall constructions to core areas with intimate interface detailing to base-build concrete and steel structures.

Stortford Interiors remit also extended to a volume CAT A ceilings installation that extended throughout the building on floor plates/cores and reception areas. The general floors all received plasterboard margins and metal pan ceilings to field areas with deflection interface detailing to the external façade and structural cores. The reception areas received a bespoke pressed metal slatted fin system to compliment the high-end finishes in conjunction with MF ceiling membranes and associated ancillaries.

The scheme permitted Stortford Interiors to once more demonstrate its relentless attention quality and detail throughout a volume landmark installation. The project enabled the business to apply its technical
and performance knowledge across multiple floors concurrently and satisfy challenging programme requirements.
