An Iconic Building
Transformed into a
Major Learning Facility
Stortford Interiors were appointed to deliver a far reaching drywall and suspended ceilings package at this world renowned educational institution for Wates Construction. The works involved the extensive refurbishment of the iconic Old Marylebone Town Hall in West London. The 123,000 sq ft scheme was split into two Buildings, The Council House and The Annexe – the former having a Listed status. The package scope included high performance drywall and acoustic ceilings to classrooms, common areas and lecture theatres and auditoriums as well as an extensive external SFS package. With our remit was also a large remedial lime heritage plaster package. The restoration of the landmark building into a modern learning environment enabled Stortford Interiors to demonstrate close interface management between new and existing fabric whilst maintaining exacting detail and high performance demands.
