Embassy Gardens Architectural Fit-Out
Embassy Gardens is a new riverside district in London developed around the new United States Embassy in Nine Elms. The area has witnessed significant regeneration with a masterplan to create an urban environment that orchestrates the relationship between architecture, landscape and public space to create desirable living and working areas.
One Embassy Gardens is a 215,000 sq ft flagship commercial building that sits central to this location. The 12 storey ‘metal box’ has a unique 360 degree roof terrace and winter gardens with views over the river Thames and central London.
Stortford Interiors and our in-house joinery division Parkrose were appointed by property developer Ballymore to design, deliver and install a complete interior architectural package. To de-risk interface management and negate sequence risks only two trade contractors were utilised on the scheme. Stortford Interiors secured the fabric package and worked in close conjunction with the MEP contractor.
Scope of Works
Stortford Interiors were responsible for the delivery of a holistic interior architectural fit-out package to reception, cores, open-plan field areas and basement. The detailed and expansive scope of works included performance drywall and linings, MF ceilings and metal pan ceilings to lobbies and floor plates including fire curtains and passive fire protection. Raised modular access floors were captured to office areas and WC areas, with screeds to stair lobbies and mezzanine areas. Proprietary fire rated glass screens were installed to lobby areas in conjunction with feature timber panelling and bespoke ceiling fabrics. Decorations throughout the building and window treatments also formed part of our remit.
An expansive general joinery package was also included with veneered and proprietary riser door sets to core areas and Parkrose were provided with another opportunity to deliver striking architectural reception and washroom fit-outs. Washroom areas received mosaic tiled flooring, stone vanity tops with bespoke toilet cubicles and mirror units providing stylish accents whilst poured Terrazzo flooring, stainless steel ceilings, a feature reception desk and specifically commissioned artwork complemented the double height Reception space.
This widest of architectural scopes provided both challenge and opportunity for Stortford Interiors to differentiate ourselves from the marketplace. Our in-house design, delivery expertise and interface experiences enabled us to identify project risk early, provide appropriate aesthetic and performance solutions and achieve a peerless installation within demanding programme parameters.
Close client collaboration and trade contractor co-operation was imperative to the success of the project and contributed to another class leading installation.
