Stortford Interiors (UK) in-house joinery division, Parkrose are delighted to announce that we have secured a Specialist Joinery Fit-Out package at ‘The Smith’ – 7 Millbank for Skanska. The original stone clad building was constructed in two phases between 1915 and 1929. Make Architects redevelopment of The Smith involves the careful dismantling, repair and reconstruction of the existing facade and the development of a high-quality new office building within. Their proposals centre on maintaining and enhancing the 9-storey building’s historic character, and future-proofing the scheme with sustainable design that grants a lifespan of 100-plus years. Skanska are leading the construction of the new nine-storey office with two basement levels, 126,000 sq/ft of office space, including amenities on the ground floor and terraces on the upper floors.
The recent appointment will see the Parkrose Joinery & Fit-Out Business Unit deliver a complex & highly detailed works package comprising raised access floors, screeding, timber & bronze skirtings, plasterboard partitions & linings, acoustic & soft-cell ceilings, GRG ceiling details, internal timber doors, glazed doors, timber & stone flooring, folding/stacking doors, clay plaster and other decorative finishes. The bespoke joinery scope includes a metal & leather clad reception desk, café bar & canopy, curved booth & bench seating and planters.
Steve Harvey (Operations Director) commented: ‘Our pre-construction team worked extremely hard with the project stakeholders to provide the most appropriate delivery and cost solutions for this landmark project, and we look forward to delivering a fully integrated fit-out package of the highest quality’.
