Stortford Interiors (UK) Ltd and Parkrose – A Division of Stortford Interiors, are delighted to announce that they have recently secured the Joinery package for McLaren Construction at 214 Oxford Street. McLaren will turn the former flagship of Top Shop on London’s Oxford Street into a new Ikea store. The store will host IKEA UK’s second smaller store format and will follow the recent opening of IKEA Hammersmith. Last autumn, Ikea paid £378m for the plot, and the new store is set to sell accessories and some furniture when it opens next year. It will also include planning studios for spaces such as kitchens and wardrobes.
Our remit is to deliver laminate faced and factory painted doorsets, ironmongery, Oak window linings, capping’s & handrails, skirting, lightweight concrete panelling, acoustic panelling, timber stairs & balustrades, reception desk, mirrors, sliding stacking partitions, FF&E and a full kitchenette fit-out. The scope also captures the changing room lockers and cycle storage racks to the basement areas of the building.
Steve Harvey (Operations Director) commented: ‘Our pre-con and operations teams have been working hard on this scheme for quite some time and have collaborated closely with the project team to understand the project interfaces and challenges, and provide the best cost solutions. Our proactive ‘can-do’ ethos has differentiated us again and we look forward to delivering another class-leading installation for McLaren and the wider project team’.
