The Parkrose team working on the GPA Croydon project at 2 Ruskin Square were recently involved in a great social value initiative at Lives Not Knives in Croydon.

Lives Not Knives is an innovative, award winning, youth-led charity that works to prevent knife crime, serious youth violence and school exclusions by engaging, educating and empowering disadvantaged young people and supporting them to enjoy their lives and improve their future prospects. They offer a unique strategy that centres around personal one-to-one mentoring with 9-14 year olds, educational school roadshows, a fun after school club and a free summer programme of activities so that all the young people they work with can overcome adversity and transform their lives.

Our team were asked to help upgrade the facilities at the LNK base within the Centrale Shopping Centre in Croydon, by providing and installing a new fitted kitchen, including sink, taps and a dishwasher, whilst our friends at KML Decorators undertook the complete re-decoration of the area. Callum at LNK extended their thanks to all involved for the kitchen transformation, which he says has made a huge difference to the environment for the young people using the facility. Anyone looking to support this fantastic facility can donate, or purchase eye-catching LNK T-Shirts, in red, black or white from their website at https://www.livesnotknives.org/shop You can see the T-shirts being modelled by Sonny, Guy and Callum in the image above. Any donations or sales will help LNK to educate, empower and engage young people affected by youth crime and violence in Croydon & London.
