As part of our commitment to creating meaningful social value alongside the delivery of the Broadgate Tower project in Liverpool Street for BAM Construction, Stortford Interiors is proud to have recently completed a vibrant CSR Local School Initiative at The Aldgate School. Our objective was simple: to give back to the local community through tangible improvements and meaningful engagement—and we’re thrilled with the results.
Upgrades to Play & Sports Areas
We worked closely with school leadership and staff to design and install fresh outdoor recreational features, including:
- New hopscotch and 4 Square playground markings, bringing fun, fitness, and learning together.
- Refurbishment of the main football and games pitch, guided by input from teachers to meet the daily needs of the pupils. These upgrades ensure a safe, durable, and inspiring space for physical activity and social interaction.
Breakfast Mornings: Fuelling Young Minds
To further support the wellbeing of the children, we organised three consecutive breakfast mornings at the school. These included:
- Bagels, fresh fruit, and juices—to help students start their day energised and focused.
- With plenty of smiles and excitement—it was perhaps a little surprising to discover that the most popular item during today’s breakfast wasn’t food, but our Eco School Educational Kits!
Eco Education & Future Visits
The Year 5 and Year 6 pupils enthusiastically embraced the Eco School Kits we provided, and we’ll be returning to the school soon with additional kits for more students to benefit.
Sustainability in Action
In alignment with both our own environmental goals and those of BAM Construction, we’re proud to note that: All deliveries of construction plant, tools, and breakfast supplies were made using 100% zero-emission vehicles. This ensured that the initiative not only benefited the pupils and the school but also respected the surrounding environment and air quality in the City of London.
Team Effort and Industry Collaboration
This initiative was made possible by a collaborative and dedicated effort from our project team:
- Dalius Krapas – Senior Project Manager
- Justas Janusevicius – Senior Site Manager
- Stella Salousti – Project Surveyor
- Edward Jordan – Commercial Trainee
We would also like to extend a special thank you to Noel Sheehan, Construction Manager at Broadgate Tower, for generously giving his time and support to this initiati
Building More Than Just Spaces
At Stortford Interiors, we believe construction projects should benefit more than just the skyline—they should positively impact the communities that surround them. This initiative at The Aldgate School is one of many ways we aim to embed social value into our project delivery—from Broadgate Tower and beyond. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to build with purpose.
