Stortford Interiors’ (UK) in-house joinery division, Parkrose has recently been awarded the Back of House Doorset package by Wates Construction on the mixed-use redevelopment of 196-222 Kings Road. The package comprises factory finished solid core doorsets and all associated ironmongery. All fire rated doorsets will be installed in accordace with the BM TRADA Q-Mark Fire Door Installation scheme. The scheme has been designed to provide reassurance to specifiers, contractors and end users that the product they have chosen has been installed correctly and that it should perform as intended. Parkrose Doorset Compliance Manager, Kevin Woods, will monitor and audit all stages of the installation.
The six-storey BREEAM ‘Excellent’ development will restore the historic façade of the original art-deco Gaumont Theatre building, introducing the best of modern design in harmony with the heritage surroundings. It will feature flexible retail space, an improved Waitrose store, a large pub in the same location as the existing, an independent cinema, 47 new homes, high quality office space and a rooftop bar providing a unique view across Chelsea and beyond.
The award represents an opportunity for Parkrose to deliver another major project for Wates, consolidating an on-going trading relationship developed in London over more than twenty years.
