Project Outline

Parkrose was appointed by Laing O’ Rourke to deliver a Washroom Fit-Out package over eleven floors, including fluted glass panelling, flush fronted laminate faced WC cubicles, KAST sinks, MF ceilings and ceramic floor tiling.

The package also includes colour backed glass, mirrors, sanitary ware and MEP final connections. The Post Building transformed a Royal Mail sorting office on New Oxford Street in central London, bringing back into use a prominent site which has been derelict for over 20 years and reconnecting the building to the city with a new 320,000 sq ft, mixed-use, AHMM-designed redevelopment of the former sorting office. It is located on a prominent island block bordered by New Oxford Street, High Holborn and Museum Street, in the West End of London.

The scheme sets a new benchmark amongst London’s most inspiring workplaces. Comprising around 270,000 sq ft of offices and utilising the unique volume of the existing property, the office space incorporates oneacre floorplates; natural light from all sides; private roof terraces to every floor; a 7,500 sq ft rooftop garden with 360 degree views; floor to ceiling heights of up to six metres; and carefully curated retail, food and beverage amenities – all combined with the latest in world-class technology, design and sustainability.

The award represented an opportunity for Parkrose to deliver its first major washroom project for Laing O’ Rourke and consolidate an on-going trading relationship with the international engineering enterprise; our precon team worked especially hard to provide a thorough schedule of viable Value Engineering and extract the best value for the client.
