Stortford Interiors’ (UK) in-house joinery division, Parkrose, has recently been awarded a substantial Washroom & Joinery Fit-Out package by Laing O’Rourke. The Soho Place scheme consists of two buildings, No1 and No2 Soho Place, and stands on the corner of Oxford Street and Charing Cross Road in London W1. The package comprises a wide washroom scope including MF ceilings, ceramic tiling, flush fronted laminate faced WC cubicles & IPS modules, vanity basins, bespoke mirrored vanity cabinets, European oak veneered panelling, sanitary fittings and decoration. In addition, the wider package scope captures timber skirting, raised access floors, oak flooring, resin flooring, changing room joinery, a concierge desk and other bespoke joinery.

Soho Place is an enormous urban jigsaw that builds on the imminent arrival of Crossrail to bolster the large-scale regeneration of Oxford Street’s eastern end. A new civic plaza is placed between the schemes centre to amplify the urban regeneration of Oxford Street, line new urban vistas to St Patrick’s Church and physically link Charing Cross Road to Soho Square.

No1 Soho Place marries the retail tradition of Oxford Street with a revitalised transport interchange on Charing Cross Road and a new public space on Sutton Row.  It comprises two basement levels, ground floor, plus nine upper floors with a tenth floor terrace offering panoramic views across London. Use is a 36,000 sq. ft retail area (Class A1) on the key Oxford Street elevation at part basement level, above at ground and first floor levels with 180,000 sq. ft is high quality office space (Class B1).

No2 Soho Place is a unique nine story theatre and office building fronting Charing Cross Road, Sutton Row and Goslett Yard. The theatre space has been developed in conjunction with theatre operator Nimax, and will form the first purpose-built theatre for in-the-round performance in London.  This is the first new build theatre in the West End for 50 years. The three floors of office space above achieve over 3.5m clear floor to ceiling heights and 16m column free spans with 270-degree views.

The Board of Directors are delighted with this award, which comes following Stortford Interiors’ (UK) recent success in winning the Laing O’Rourke Quality Award for 2019.
